Who we are

Ark Fencing & Tree Work (Ark Fencing and Treework) is a family-run business run by Mark as a sole trader. We decide how your details are used, so we are responsible for them under UK data protection law.

19 West Moors Road, Three Legged Cross, Wimborne, Dorset BH21 6QT

What we collect

This website has no forms and no accounts, so it doesn’t ask you for anything. If you phone or WhatsApp us, we get your number and whatever you tell us about the job, such as your name, address and photos of the tree or fence. We use that to give you a quote, arrange the work, do it and invoice you. We don’t sell it or use it for marketing.

WhatsApp messages go through WhatsApp, which has its own privacy policy.

Cookies

We use cookies for one thing: Google Ads conversion measurement, which tells us when someone who saw one of our ads goes on to call or message us. They are only set if you choose Accept.

CookieWhat it doesHow long
_gcl_auLets Google Ads link a visit to a later call or WhatsApp tap, so we can see which ads work.90 days
_gcl_awSet when you arrive from one of our Google ads. It remembers which ad you clicked.90 days

Google may also set its own cookies on its domains (such as google.com and doubleclick.net) for the same purpose.

If you choose Reject, no advertising cookies are stored. Google still receives a basic, cookie-free signal when someone taps to call, which it uses to estimate how many calls our ads bring in without identifying you. The site and the phone links work exactly the same either way.

We also store your choice in your browser (as ark-consent) so we don’t ask again. You can change it at any time: .

Our website host, Vercel, counts page visits for us without cookies and without identifying you.

Google

Google runs the advertising and measurement, and handles that data under its own terms. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We only keep your details for as long as we need them for your job, and for as long as the law says we must keep business and tax records. After that we delete them. The Google Ads cookies above expire after 90 days.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

  • tell you what details we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that’s wrong;
  • delete your details, unless we have to keep them (for example, for tax);
  • stop or limit how we use them.

Call us and we’ll sort it out. It’s free.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
